School supplies drive

One community leader went above and beyond to ensure local students have all the supplies they need before the first school bell rings.
The nonprofit group, a Call to Action, hosted a school supply drive. Event organizer Sugar Stallings believes that heading into class with a pencil and a notebook can help start the school year off on the right note. “It is very important that we care about our community, but care about our children. Whatever circumstances that they have in their life and in their family, they need their supplies so that they can go to school feeling good about themselves, caring about themselves, but what excelling in school and that is really what it is all about.”
