School Failed to Protect Student

Parents of a 15-year-old Pass Christian High School student are suing the school after they say their daughter was sexually assaulted in April and the school mishandled it.
The civil lawsuit accuses the school and district of failing to protect the victim or notify authorities when the victim told a counselor that she had been thrown into a locker room where two boys held the door while a third sexually assaulted her while the teacher left the building.
The lawsuit says school officials kept the student in the principal’s office for the rest of the year, but the alleged attackers were not punished.
The school board’s attorney says the defendant has no comment.
