School Back in Session after Murder

Today was the first day back from spring break at Vancleave High School after the death of freshman Cliff Allyn. Vancleave High School Principal Anthony Gruich started Monday morning off by going to every individual class that Cliff was supposed to be in. Gruich tells News 25 it is difficult for students to come back from spring break and see that empty desk where Allyn used to sit. The school has brought in extra counselors. Gruich says they are doing everything they can to provide students with support. “It’s tough to get through each day but each day is a little bit better than the previous day. Like I tell students, let’s remember the smiling Cliff Allyn in class and not the Cliff Allyn we know from this senseless tragedy.”
Gruich tells News 25 Cliff Allyn was very well liked by his classmates and teachers. Vancleave High School will be collecting donations for the Allyn family on Friday and wearing Cliff’s favorite color, red.
