Scarlet Pearl shooters arrested, facing murder charges

Charges have been filed on two Alabama teens in connection to a deadly shooting in the Scarlet Pearl parking lot last September.

19-year-old Darrius Rowser Junior and 18-year-old Karmelo Derks are the suspects. The shooting happened back on September 21, 2022.

The men are currently in the Mobile County Metro Jail on unrelated charges. They are now awaiting extradition to Harrison County on these murder charges.

California resident Nicholaus Craig was shot once and killed in the early morning hours of the 21st.  He had stopped at the casino to celebrate his birthday with a friend. Craig was making his way home to Mobile to visit family.

Chief Shannon Nobles says the shooting appears to be a robbery attempt.

The possible getaway car was found burned in Pritchard, Alabama, the day after it was identified, allowing detectives to focus on leads in that area.
