Scarlet Pearl Casino unveils the Orchid Room

The Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort is upping the ante once again.

News 25’s Toni Miles gives us a sneak peek at the D’Iberville Casino’s latest addition, the Orchid Room- Gaming Elevated, set to open Sunday exclusively only to special customers.

The Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort is branching out once again. The Orchid Room, gaming elevated, is sure to live up to its name, hand-picked by the casino’s owner, LuAnn Pappas. “We tried to think about what we could tie into the Scarlet Pearl. We started to think about flowers. I wrote down an iris. Mr. Bob wrote down an orchid. We looked at the meaning of it. The orchid meant love, wealth and prosperity. We thought it would be very fitting for the room.”

It’s designed to take the gaming experience to a whole new level, featuring eight blackjack and mini-baccarat table games, slot and video poker machines, with its own cashier and player services counter. Here membership has its privileges.  “The Orchid Room is open to all Pearl Reward cardholders. You must be a card member to enter the room.”

Draped with first class amenities, there are also plenty of local touches to go around. Scarlet Pearl Casino Vice President of Marketing Ben Coff said, “We put a focus, where it was possible, on our local companies. Andercorp, a Mississippi-based company, they helped us build this beautiful room. CMS Millwork out of Gulfport helped us with everything from this beautiful glowing onyx entry.”

Pearl Reward card holders will have exclusive access to the Orchid Room and can play at one of 53 video poker or slot machines, custom made for social distancing and they also have plenty of other perks. “It has your phone charger, UBS port, a tray for when we serve the late exotic fare at night time, drawers to put your personal belongings in, bedroom slippers, shoulder massagers and a lot more amenities.”

One hundred and 11 employees have also been added to the payroll, all part of a long-term and ongoing investment by the D’Iberville casino resort. “Since we’ve opened in 2015, we’ve put $30 million in additional capital into the property. This project today, the Orchid Room, is part of a $6 million project. We can’t wait until it’s in full bloom. The staff has worked so hard to get this room open. The week after Labor Day we start on the VIP Lounge, right next door.”
