Salvation Army offered ‘grab and go’ meals for seniors at the Kroc Center

The Salvation Army kicked off its efforts to help those in need during this Coronavirus outbreak by reaching out to local senior citizens.

Around 80 hot dog meals along with gallons of milk were prepared by a team at the Kroc Center for local seniors Sunday and handed out in a ‘grab and go’ format.

The Salvation Army also asked residents about their current food needs in order to prepare for future food drives.

Major Bradley Caldwell says their goal is to lend a helping hand to the public in these difficult circumstances. “We’re trying to stay connected even if we can’t meet indoors or shop indoors, we want to help throughout this crisis as much as we’re allowed by law.”

Additionally the Salvation Army is accepting donations of nonperishable foods and cleaning supplies outside of these locations:

  • 2019 22nd Street in Gulfport
  • 575 Division Street in Biloxi
  • 3217 Nathan Hale Ave in Pascagoula
  • 52 Virginia Street, Suite A, in Lucedale
