“Salute to Jackson County Police” rally takes place Tuesday

A rally is being held Tuesday with the goal of showing support for law enforcement agencies throughout Jackson County.

The Jackson County Republican Club is hosting a ‘Salute to Jackson County Police Departments’ at Rosie’s Cantina in Ocean Springs.

Keynote speakers include Sheriff Mike Ezell and District Attorney Angel Myers-McIlrath.

Additionally, mayors from cities in the county will be declaring proclamations at the event and police chiefs will receive certifications of appreciation. Jackson County Republican Club President E. Brian Rose said, “While most of the country or much of the country is yelling to defund the police, in Jackson County we’re yelling to defend the police.”

The event kicks off at 6:30 Tuesday night and is free to attend. Rosie’s Cantina is located at 503 Porter Avenue in Ocean Springs.
