Saints WR Michael Thomas out for season

Already down to their third string quarterback last week, the New Orleans Saints might have even bigger problems at wide receiver.

Today, star wide receiver Michael Thomas announced he’ll be out for the rest of the season after “a small setback” while recovering from off-season ankle surgery.

Thomas started the year on the physically unable to perform list, but was expected back in October.

Huge blow to the Saints offense, currently ranked second-to-last in the NFL in passing yards per game.

Thomas was the NFL’s offensive player of the year in 2019 when he set the single-season record with 149 receptions, but only played in nine games last year and none this year.
