Saints tee off on the Coast
Today at Fallen Oak Golf Club in Saucier, a few well-known Saints traded their cleats in for clubs. News 25’s Hank Davis was there and gives us all the details.
Today, members of the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame Road Show were on the Coast enjoying some Golf and giving back to the community. Joining them was special guest Rocky Shipes of Rock Star Golf. “I’m the five time champion trick shot artist, golf entertainer number one in charity fundraiser, charity golf outings. It is a beautiful course, beautiful day, lots of old Saints players are here partaking. I’m driving this par for green and if I get a hole-in-one, they can win a trip to Pebble Beach. It’s gonna be a good day.”
A stray rainstorm did drive the golfers inside, but that couldn’t stop the good times. Former Saints running back Deuce McAllister said, “You know, I’m not really a golfer myself. Just pretty much just enjoy seeing some of the guys, it’s not often.”
Saints great John Fourcade was among the familiar faces at the event. “It’s all for a good cause. It’s the Saints Hall of Fame, so I see some of my friends. Saturday night, open to the public, auction, come out and buy some stuff and hang out with the Saints players.”
Biloxi Mayor Andrew ‘FoFo’ Gilich was also there to welcome the Saints to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. “It’s something that’s terrific for Biloxi and terrific for the Coast and I think the Saints appreciate that we appreciate them.”
Rain or shine, the Saints will be on the Coast this weekend for their Hall of Fame Road Show. If you missed them today, you can catch them tomorrow at MGM Park.
