Saints rookie Carl Granderson sentenced in sexual assault case

This afternoon, undrafted free agent Carl Granderson was sentenced to six months in prison after a judge in Wyoming rejected a plea deal that had previously been agreed upon by Granderson’s team and Albany County prosecutors.

Back in February, the former Wyoming star defensive lineman was charged with one count of third degree sexual assault and one count of sexual battery for an incident that took place in November.

According to the Times Picayune, the Saints gave Granderson a $15,000 signing bonus in addition to his $70,000 base salary for 2019.

He was taken into custody following the court session.
