Saints Report: New Orleans Saints vs. Green Bay Packers
The last two years, the New Orleans Saints didn’t lose their second game of the season until November 10th or later. But this year, the Black and Gold didn’t even make it to October.
Saints hosting the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football, looking to bounce back on a short week from a Monday night loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.
Saints lose for the second week in a row by the final score of 37-30. Head Coach Sean Payton said, “We’re 1-2 right now, and it’s been a while since we’ve felt that and yet three years ago we were 0-2. So a little bit of a gut check, and yet we’re not playing well enough. Let’s not fool ourselves.”
Running back Alvin Kamara said,”I think we’ve just got to find more. We’ve got to find more offense. We’ve got to find more on defense. We’ve got to find more special teams. We’ve all got to do more than what’s being asked of us right now. We’ve got to correct the mistakes, the little things killing us. Penalties.”
Quarterback Drew Brees said, “Listen, he’s a special football player. He rattled off that big run early on, and then obviously the check down that turned into a 52-yard touchdown. It’s nice when you’ve got a weapon like that you just get the ball in his hands in space and he’s tough to tackle, and it’s kind of a human highlight.”
Through three weeks, the Saints are leading the entire league in penalty yards and defensive pass interference calls.
