Saints preseason preview

The importance of the NFL preseason has always been debatable. The New Orleans Saints complicate that conversation even further based on their performance in those games over the last couple years.
In both 2015 and 2016, the Saints have gone winless in the preseason. Overall, they’ve lost their last nine games leading up to the regular season and there’s been somewhat of a carryover effect. Each of the last two years, the Black and Gold have started the regular season at 0-3 which makes for a long two months of losing to start a new campaign.
Nonetheless, Saints Quarterback Drew Brees remains positive on the eve of their preseason opener. “I don’t think that that is reflective of your performance during the regular season. I mean I think that you certainly want to, you’re only showing so much. When the starters are in there, I mean listen you want to perform well. You want to execute well. But at the end of the day, does it make you feel good to win? Yeah, it does. But that’s not a record that’s ever reflected on anybody’s stat sheet at the end of their career.”
The Saints visit the Cleveland Browns for their first preseason game tomorrow at 7 p.m.
