Ryan’s Friday Night Forecast

It’s overcast on this Friday night, and the showers and thunderstorms are just getting started. We are right on the line of marginal/no severe threat tonight, but regardless I expect to see some heavy rains, lightning, and some gusty winds. The current forecast is calling for around half an inch of rain between tonight and tomorrow afternoon, which would normally not be a big deal, but our already swollen rivers are already near the breaking point as it is. The showers and thunderstorms will stick around for at least a few hours as we head into Saturday, but will begin clearing as we head into the early afternoon/evening. The Vernal Equinox will take place just before midnight, “officially” bringing Spring to the Gulf Coast, and luckily the sun with it. We’ll see sunny skies and drier conditions through Wednesday, where the slight chance of rain and an increase in cloud cover moves into the forecast over the next day or so.
