Rustic Old to Rustic New art exhibit

Rod Hedgecock is an artist known for making something out of nothing with his art. This will be showcased tomorrow at the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum.

Hedgecock turns ordinary, salvaged materials into masterpieces. The inspiration for his paintings is to prove that anything can be made beautiful again. There will be a free opening reception for the exhibit on Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The exhibit will be on display on the third floor of the museum from May 10th to August 5th. Museum Outreach Program Coordinator Michelle Peterson said, “The unique thing about Rod is that he does not paint on canvas. He takes old ceiling tiles, cabinet doors, basically things that people would see as junk and he turns it into art.”

All of Hedgecock’s displayed work will be available for purchase.
