Rotary Club Honors Gulfport Citizen

Today, the Rotary Club of Gulfport honored a man that they say serves others before himself.
Every year, the club gives its Founders’ Day Award to the William Harris Hardy Citizen of the Year. This year’s recipient was Ted Hearn.
Hearn has a laundry list of accomplishments, ranging from serving in the military to being an expert farmer. Members of the Rotary Club say some of his greatest accomplishments didn’t start until he retired. Since retiring, Hearn has spent countless hours volunteering with Feed My Sheep and Feed the Needy. “That’s what I work for, is to see people climb out of the place that they’re in and especially when they find and begin to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. That’s the only reward I’m looking for,” said Hearn.
The Rotary Club of Gulfport has been handing out this award since 1989.
