Road Widening in Gulfport

If you travel along Three Rivers Road in Gulfport expect some minor detours for the next few weeks.

Cones and concrete trucks will be a common sight as construction workers begin work on sidewalks that will line the road.
The construction company hopes nearby businesses and commuters stay patient, as the project is expected to finish at the end of the month. If your morning commute includes Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, then you might have found yourself weaving through construction cones as early as 6 a.m.
Project manager Matthew Touart said, “It’s gonna free traffic up through this area and cut down a lot of the congestion problems they’ve had over the years. It’ll be good for the businesses and the city and everyone as a whole.”
Middle Drive will be closed until Friday. Construction on the 18 month project is expected to wrap up in about a month.
