Retiree Appreciation Day at Keesler Air Force Base
Military retirees from across the Gulf Coast are heading to Keesler Air Force Base today for Retiree Appreciation Day.
The annual event features more than 30 displays including Keesler Medical Center, Tricare, Base Legal Office, Armed Forces Retirement Home, and the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center.
The Keesler Retiree Affairs Office covers areas between Baton Rouge and Mobile where more than 32,000 Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine and Coast Guard retirees reside.
SMSGT. Noel Ramirez said, “A wonderful event again hosted by our 81st Training Wing to get these folks out here and get them back engaged with the military community. It’s also good for us. It’s good for our younger airmen to see and talk to some of the retirees and hear their stories and understand the importance and the history of their stories.”
