Resurrection’s Scott Sisson stepping down

Resurrection Catholic looking to fill some big shoes with head football Coach Scott Sisson stepping down from the program this week.

During his six seasons with the Eagles, Sisson led the team to an overall record of 51-24 including a 1A South State championship in 2015.

His oldest son, Larry, graduated in 2014 and then with his youngest son, Jack, nearing graduation, Sisson told school administration last year that the 2018 season would be his last.

He’ll remain on staff at the school as an assistant basketball and volleyball coach for the opportunity to mentor his daughter, Sophie.

Sisson tells News 25 “I have enjoyed my time at RCS. Coaching my sons Larry and Jack has been one of the highlights of my life. It has always been in my plans to retire from football when Jack completed his senior season. Sophie, my daughter, plays three sports. Now, I will be able to coach her as an assistant in volleyball, basketball, and watch her play tennis.”

Sisson also had previous stops at Pascagoula and East Central.
