Restore Act projects announced
The U.S. Department of Treasury issues grant awards for six restore act projects.
Seventeen million will be allotted for construction of the Mississippi Aquarium in Gulfport. Two million dollars will go to construct a new hangar at the Stennis International Airport. One million will be used for the oyster aquaculture program. Five million will be used for fiber optic infrastructure planning to bring high speed internet all across the Gulf Coast. Eight million will be used to improve the Port Bienville trans-loading terminal facility. About 10 million dollars will be used for the Jackson County corridor connector road.
This Restore Act money comes from the BP oil spill settlement.
