Resident Sues Gov. Bryant Over Flag

It’s a case that’s grabbing national attention; Mississippi news now reports a Mississippi man is suing Governor Phil Bryant over the state flag.

Carlos Moore, a Mississippi attorney, has filed a federal lawsuit naming Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant that seeks the removal of the current Mississippi state flag from all public display in the state.
The lawsuit asserts the state flag violates the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment.
The Mississippi state flag is the last state flag in the United States that contains the confederate battle emblem and has been a source of contention in the state.
Moore says he is currently building a coalition of local and national leaders who have committed the time and resources to take this lawsuit through the legal process all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, if necessary.
