Rescue Goes Wrong For Good Samaritans

Six people are in the hospital after a rescue took a wrong turn last night in Jackson County. A vehicle was on fire around 8:30 am on Seaman Road about a mile west of Antioch Road. Five people tried to get the driver out of the burning car but were injured in the process. At least one had to be airlifted by a helicopter to USA Medical Center in Mobile. The Northwest Fire Department worked alongside the Central Jackson County Fire Department, the sheriff’s department, and Acadian Ambulance Service. According to a first responder with Central Jackson County Fire a man on the scene told him he walked up to the truck, attempted to get the person out of the truck, and his arm was burned. We will keep you updated on the statuses of the six people in the hospital.
