Republicans Respond to Democrats Op-Ed

Mississippi GOP representatives are responding to allegations made by the House minority leader.
In an op-ed published by the Clarion Ledger last week, Democrat David Baria of Bay St. Louis calls the Republican legislative leadership militaristic, operating in a top-down manner where House Republicans are instructed before a decision which way to vote and must explain themselves if they vote against leadership.
House Republicans News 25 spoke with this morning say this is simply not true. Republican State Representative Charles Busby said, “That’s not true. Leadership has been very open to our ideas and suggestions. I would say that we have as much influence on their decisions on what to do as they have on us. That’s absolutely untrue.”
