Rep. Steven Palazzo accused of ethics violations by the Office of Congressional Ethics
Mississippi Representative Steven Palazzo is accused of ethics violations by the Office of Congressional Ethics.
According to our media partner, the Sun Herald, the Office of Congressional Ethics says there is ‘substantial’ evidence to suggest that U.S. Representative Steven Palazzo converted campaign finance funds for personal use.
In a report released March 1st, 2021 by the OCE, Palazzo is accused of using the campaign money to pay for expenses that may not be ‘legitimate and viable purchases’ for campaign and political use.
Additionally, the report says Palazzo may have improperly spent a portion of his members’ representation allowance on personal or campaign expenses and may have performed official actions to assist his brother, Kyle Palazzo.
The board recommended a review of each allegation.
