Reeves urges residents to stay safe ahead of holiday weekend

As we near closer to the Labor Day Weekend, Governor Tate Reeves is once again urging Mississippians to follow CDC guidelines ahead of the holiday.

Reportedly, Mississippi sees a spike in cases around holidays as we saw in both Memorial Day and the Fourth of July. Reeves says the average number of cases in Mississippi is going down across the board.

However, Dr. Thomas Dobbs pointed out the death count in the state, saying certain illnesses, like pneumonia, that were paired with COVID were listed as a COVID death.

Dr. Dobbs said one child between the age of one and five has died from coronavirus.
