Red, White and Brew

On this Independence Day, several local breweries are rejoicing over the newfound freedom they received with the passage of House Bill 1322.
Now that the beer makers can sell directly to the customers and with the Fourth of July ranking as the number one day for beer consumption in America, it only makes sense that Chandeleur Island Brewing Company is celebrating in downtown Gulfport with a Red, White, and Blue tribute. Dave Reese with Chandeleur Brewing Co. said, “We got an awesome special going on today. We have three dollar red, white, and blue beers. That includes our Belgian Red, our watermelon ale, our Belgian White, and our blueberry sour. You can get them for three dollars. We’re open at 11 and we’ll be open until sometime after the fireworks. It will be a great place to come and have a couple beers before the fireworks tonight. Everybody is off today. Who doesn’t want to come celebrate freedom with a couple of cold beers, especially in this heat?”
Thanks to the newly passed bill, craft breweries in the Magnolia State can sell two cases of 12 ounce bottles to their customers instead of previously being restricted to giving samples.
