Recent Violence Related to Drug Activity in Pass Christian
The Pass Christian Police Department says they will not sit idly by while a criminal subcultural takes hold and commits acts of violence in the community. This was after a string of search warrants led to several arrests related to drug activity in the area.
Three men and four women are behind bars Tuesday after search warrants were executed at three Pass Christian homes, turning up crack cocaine, marijuana, meth, and drug paraphernalia according to police. Pass Christian Police Chief Tim Hendricks said, “We’re not just going to tolerate it and we’re going to put these criminals on notice that if you’re going to do these activities, we’re going to pursue you and we’re going to arrest you and we’re going to get justice for any victims along the way.”
Among those arrested were 34-year-old Amber Bosarge and 40-year-old Henry Tops. Both were charged with drug related felonies. All seven arrests were part of a zero tolerance stance against drugs and violence by the Pass Christian Police Department. This stance came after a rash of drug related crime and violence in the area including a shooting in a New Year’s Day home invasion and one on Railroad Street back in November. “Being because they’re drug related or related to drug activity, not a lot of people are wanting to talk to us so we’re still working on the cases. We’re going to work them until they just can’t be worked anymore and hopefully we’re going to come up with the suspect in them,” said Chief Hendricks.
Police are hoping the community will join forces with them by speaking up and providing helpful information with them or by leaving an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers. Patricia Nelson works in Pass Christian. She said, “We need the safety for our kids and to make sure that everybody knows that our police department is doing their best, best as they can to crack down on them.”
