Rebecca Reid, mentally-challenged Lumberton resident, missing since January under “suspicious circumstances”

POPLARVILLE, Miss. (WXXV) — Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers, along with family and friends of missing Pearl River County resident Rebecca Reid, are offering ‘up to $5000 reward’ for information leading to the person or persons responsible for her disappearance.

Rebecca Reid, a mentally challenged 32-year-old female, disappeared from her home at 201 Leetown Road in Lumberton on January 24, 2020.

A witness reported seeing a white Chevrolet Trailblazer around 5:00 pm on the day of her disappearance.  Police have not determined if the Trailblazer is involved.

Rhonda Cooley, a cousin of Reid’s appealed to the public with a GoFundMe page which raised the funds to match Crime Stoppers already $2500 offer.

On the GoFundMe page, it says, “Rebecca Reid has been missing for 7 weeks under suspicious circumstances…Rebecca suffers from medical and mental conditions that require a strict medication regimen.  She does not have her medications with her.”

On Tuesday, April 21, members of the Pearl River Sheriff’s Department placed signs on roadways to bring awareness to the case and to advertise the new reward amount.

For an individual to receive the “up to $5,000 reward,” information must come through Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers to qualify and the information must lead to an arrest in the case.
