Read across Mississippi
Mississippi’s First Lady Deborah Bryant spent some time with a group of preschoolers at Kreole Elementary School in Moss Point this morning.
The first lady has been traveling across the state reading to students as a part of the Read across Mississippi campaign which she started back in 2014. Since then, the number of third graders who can read on a third grade level has jumped from 55 to 90 percent.
Today, Moss Point Mayor Mario King and First Lady Natasha King joined in to make stops at three different Moss Point schools.
Bryant plans to visit every Mississippi county this year as a part of the Read across Mississippi campaign.
