Rapiscan Systems Classic preparations at Fallen Oak Golf Course

The clock is ticking until the Rapiscan Systems Classic is underway at the Fallen Oak Golf Course.

Ten years ago, a tournament was put in place on the Coast to bring tourism back to South Mississippi and now it’s recognized as one of the biggest sporting events in the state. Rapiscan Systems Classic Media Relations Director Frank Kay said, “Last year, Rapiscan Systems came on board as the title sponsor which adds a whole new level to this tournament. It makes this tournament much more important.”

Seventy-eight of the world’s best professional golfers competing for a $1.6 million purse. The golfers embrace the course and love the Coast due to the southern hospitality. “It plays fair, but it’s difficult. It doesn’t matter if you are the top player on the leaderboard or the player finishing last, everybody feels like they have support.”

For those checking out the Rapiscan Systems Classic for the first time, get ready to see your favorite golfers up close and personal along with other surprises. The best part about it all is that general admission is complimentary thanks to Coca-Cola. “All you have to do is go to Rapiscansystemsclassic.com and download your ticket. You can either campout in one place and watch all the players come through or it’s a walkable course so you can walk and follow your favorite players.”

The public can check out from the Pro-Am first and second waves of tee times on Thursday. The opening ceremony and the first round of the classic will start on Friday.
