Rally to Support First Responders

Today the community rallied around local first responders in a display of gratitude for their service.
Dozens gathered on the lawn of Woolmarket Baptist Church unifying with members of local police, fire, EMS, and DMR agencies before lifting them up in prayer.
Among those who addressed the crowd were Windy Swetman and Connie Rockco, as well as several of the leaders of the local first responders.
Nathan Barrett with Pentecostals of the Gulf Coast organized the event. He says it’s clear that the community is unified in supporting these men and women. “Each of us every day when we wake up, we would gladly give our life for a family member, but these guys, they put on the uniform and not knowing if they will have to or not have to give their life for people they don’t even know in their community. I think it’s commendable for people to be willing to do that on a daily basis.”
Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson says that these events are an example to the rest of the nation that the Mississippi Gulf Coast is a strong, connected community.
