Racquets and Ritas Benefit Tennis Tournament

If you’re still looking for weekend plans, head over to the Bayou Bluff Tennis Club for the eighth annual ‘Racquets and Ritas Benefit Tennis Tournament.’

One hundred and 50 players from five different states will be competing at this year’s tournament. All of the money from the ‘Racquets and Ritas Tournament’ goes towards ‘Costumes for a Cause.’

‘Costumes for a Cause’ is a non-profit organization that gives direct financial assistance to local families battling cancer.

Besides helping out a great cause, this tournament has something for the whole family to enjoy. You can watch or play tennis, drink margaritas, or bid on silent auction items. Event Coordinator Tracie Normand said, “I think it draws a lot of players, one, because of the facility, two ‘costumes for a cause.’ We are a local charity. We are 100 percent volunteer based. A lot of local businesses and residents support us and our efforts to help local families fighting cancer.”

The tournament goes all the way through Sunday and anyone can attend for free.
