Race book opening on Wednesday at the Palace Casino

On Wednesday, the Palace Casino will have the horses in the back by opening a new race book.

The Gulf Coast’s first race book comes just in time for popular events like the Triple Crown races and the Kentucky Derby.

This project has been in the works for quite some time and now guests can place wagers on nationwide horse racing events.

Publisher of Jackpot Magazine Michael Sunderman tells News 25 this will attract a brand new demographic to casinos regarding sports betting. “The race book is a different animal. I think you have a much smaller audience to appeal to. The people that like to bet on horses will certainly find their way to the casinos to place a bet.”

Sunderman tells News 25 depending on the success of the Palace Casino, we could see race books implemented at other casinos on the Coast in the near future.
