Public School Students Celebrate Final School Day of 2014

Friday was the last day of school for public school students in the year 2014.

Bayou View Elementary School kids celebrated the start of winter break by wearing pajamas to school. Students had a "read-in," where they read stories in their PJs with sleeping bags like it was bed time. Kids were boarding the buses by 11:30 a.m., ready for some time off. School administration was excited to do something fun for the kids to kick off the holiday season.

David Allen, Assistant Principal of Bayou View Elementary, says, “Of course everybody’s excited about Christmas and they’re excited about the break, but it’s been a great day at school. We have a culture here of instruction bell to bell. So, they still came prepared to do work and to do reading, so it’s been fun. When you add something like this to the mix, it’s a lot of fun.”

Students will return to school January 5th, 2015.
