Progress on pedestrian bridge on U.S. 90 in Biloxi-Gabby

The City of Biloxi’s second pedestrian bridge is ready for installment.

This foot free standing walkway is expected to be hoisted by next week. The new bridge will connect two soon-to-open hotels with areas south of U.S. 90 which includes the Small Craft Harbor and The Hard Rock Casino.

This $2.4 million project adds more excitement to the city. Cecilia Dobbs-Walton with the City of Biloxi said, “It helps get the downtown area getting visitors from the north side and south side of Highway 90 to enjoy all the amenities. This will allow visitors to go back and forth and residents to go back and forth safely.”

Walton also says while the walkway is being hoisted up there will be some traffic diversions which will be announced once they have approval from the Mississippi Department of Transportation.
