Pro-Am tournament tees off at Fallen Oak Golf Course

Today was a day of fun for golfers at the Fallen Oak Golf Course for day one of the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic Pro-Am Tournament.
Over 200 golfers hit the links before the official tournament tees off on Friday. Big names like John Daly and Mark Calcavecchia played alongside amateur golfers.
Pro golfers tell News 25 it is a fun experience playing with locals and some even build friendships throughout the tournament. Pro golfer Billy Mayfair said, “It’s their day. You help them a little bit with their golf swing. You tell them some stories and you know it’s another practice round for me, but it’s all about the amateurs today and making sure they have a good time and enjoy themselves and try to hit a few good shots for them and they can go home and tell their families about it tonight.”
Weather permitting, Mississippi State Head Football Coach Dan Mullen and Ole Miss Head Coach Hugh Freeze tee off tomorrow morning in the C-Spire Pro-Am Tournament at Fallen Oak.
