Ticked down to the final minutes left for residents to register to vote on Saturday. Steady flow of people rushed into the Harrison County Circuit Clerk’s office to fill out their paperwork before the noon deadline, Barbara Autmon was one of them. Barbara Autmon, registered voter: “A lot of people gave their lives, sacrificed our lives so we could have this privilege. It’s very important to me. I couldn’t wait until I was 18 so I could register to vote. I still do it every election.” Autmon registered online but stopped by the courthouse just to be sure. Barbara Autmon, registered voter: “It was basically easy but I just wanted to make sure because this election is very important to me.” and to others evidenced by the last minute rush.
