President Obama Talks Officer Involved Shootings

A post on President Obama’s Facebook page says we’ve seen tragedies like the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile too many times.
The post, which appeared shortly after noon today, says, “All Americans should be deeply troubled by the fatal shootings of these men.”
Sterling was shot to death Tuesday night by a Baton Rouge police officer. Castile died after being shot by a suburban St. Paul, Minnesota police officer Wednesday night.
The post goes on to say, “To admit we’ve got a serious problem in no way contradicts our respect and appreciation for the vast majority of police officers.”
And finally, the post asks that “we come together as a nation and keep faith with one another in order to ensure a future where all of our children know that their lives matter.”
