PRCC vs. Coastal Alabama South CC

Fresh off its first run to the NJCAA Division II World Series in 15 years, Pearl River Community College was ready to make a statement in its home debut.

After losing on the road to the nation’s top ranked team to start the season, the Wildcats took out their frustration on the poor Sun Chiefs.

Fourth ranked PRCC taking on Coastal Alabama South.

PRCC-13 Coastal Alabama-0

PRCC Head Baseball Coach Michael Avalon said, “I think on the day we hit seven home runs and that’s something that we don’t try to do. It’s just that we’ve got some strength and physicality and so proud of them. Woodcock had a very good day today, I know he hit two home runs. Leif Moore did what he did last year for us and that’s kind of what we expect him to go out and compete. He’s a bulldog out there and did a really good job, filled up the strike zone, pitchability was good. Thankful they’re on our team.”

PRCC Second Baseman Taylor Woodcock said, “We’re a really good team. We’re solid. But we’re not expected to just beat the dog out of everybody. But our pitchers and our hitters showed up like I said today and we took care of business today.”

The Wildcats continue the homestand with a double-header on Sunday against Baton Rouge Community College.
