PRCC cheer wins UCA All-Girl National Championship
Twelve of the 25 members of the Pearl River Community College cheer program hail from the six coastal counties and now those 12 and those 25 are all national champions.
On Saturday, PRCC placed first in the open division of the Universal Cheerleaders Association All Girl National Championship in Orlando, Florida.
The Wildcats posted a first-run score of 88.7 to advance to the finals where they followed that up with an 88.65, five points better than the next closest mark en route to their first-ever cheer national title.
Here are those local names you might recognize: four from Picayune, Brooke Breaux, Holly Falls, Makaylah Holcomb, Mallori Watkins, as well as two from Poplarville those being Tookie Bolton and Macey Head.
Moving on to East Central’s McKenzie Hanson, George County’s Kamdyn Fairley, Hancock’s Sidney Reesor, Isabella Orozco out of Long Beach, St. Martin’s Grace Greer, and Stone’s Zian Arrington.
Overall, 24 of the 25 from Mississippi.
