Power outages across South Mississippi after severe weather

As of 2 p.m. today about 2,500 people were without electricity in South Mississippi after severe storms moved through the region.

Most of the active power outages were seen in Harrison, Jackson, and George counties.

Power outages are being resolved in these regions and emergency management officials in Harrison County also reported the following damage reports to the National Weather Service:

  • Power outages and tree damages near 26245 Highway 15, north of D’Iberville
  • Trees and power lines damaged near Big John Road
  • 6160 Krohn Road had a tree on the roof of a house
  • Power lines were reported down on the ground on Highway 15
