Potbellied Pig, Andy, Gets Adopted from Jackson Co. Shelter

Some good news for the Jackson County Animal Shelter: the potbellied pig named Andy has found a new home.

Andy was surrendered to the shelter by his owner along with two horses that are still in need of a home. The adoption fee for each horse is only $100. The shelter will also be holding an adoption event in February, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Maridee Mallette, Adoption Coordinator for the Jackson County Animal Shelter, says, “February 14th, it’s a Saturday, 10 to 2 we’re having an adoption event for Valentine’s Day. Adopt the furry love of your life! We’re gonna’ have dogs and cats there and it’s good for people to come out. Some people don’t want to come to the shelter, so they come out to the event. It’s in Ocean Springs at the Red Lily Spa, Deedy’s Formalwear, Government Grocery, right there on Government Street.”
