Number of teacher vacancies in Mississippi schools increases in 2022 – 2023 school year

Results from the Mississippi Department of Education’s educator shortage survey show there are over 5000 vacancies among teachers, administrators, and school support staff across the state – an increase of 24 compared to the 2022 – 2023 school year. Mississippi Aquarium receives grants for coral restoration

The Mississippi Aquarium was awarded $600,000 in grants for coral restoration. The grants support restoration and education related to the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Head-on collision on Highway 53 shuts down part of highway

According to Harrison County Sheriff Matt Haley, two cars were involved in a head-on wreck at Highway 53 and South Mills Road in front of Mississippi Mercantile Company and Dollar General.
