Possible Pump Track Coming to Jackson County
Off road biking lovers will be happy to hear that the Jackson County Board of Supervisors are considering a proposal to open a new bike track in Jackson County.
If approved the pump track will be constructed in an empty space at St. Andrews Park in Ocean Springs. A pump track is a small track composed of a looping trail system designed for bicycling without the rider peddling. This track would be the first of its kind on the coast, as the closest one is in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
"This is something that people will actually look forward to doing, it’s fun. There’s economic impact because people will come here from all over the south, they’ll drive from Mobile and New Orleans regularly as well as the other cities just on the Mississippi Gulf Coast."
The supervisors are still looking into the legal details of the track before moving forward.
