Port Orleans Brewing Company expands to Mississippi

A Louisiana based brewing company is kicking off their expansion celebration tonight and it’s all benefiting a good cause.

To celebrate their one year anniversary, Port Orleans Brewing Company is expanding into the state of Mississippi. The Palace Casino in Biloxi held the party and a meet and greet with co-owner and former Saints offensive tackle Zach Strief inside the Contact Lounge and Sports Bar.

Port Orleans Brewing Company came to help raise funds for Feed the Needs fifth annual fundraiser that benefits the Lord is my Help soup kitchen.

Strief tells News 25 it’s a really good fit for them to be a sponsor for the fundraiser. “Feed the Need is the greatest event in Biloxi. We got to be a part of it. One of our owners owns Blue Runner Red Beans and so it was a really good fit for us to be a sponsor, participate with them, drink some beer down, introduce it to Mississippi and also get a chance to match donations through Blue Runner and Port Orleans.”

Feed the Need volunteer Susannah Snyder said, “We ended up raising over $1,900. It’s all going right back to the soup kitchen.”

The Feed the Need fundraiser will take place Sunday, May 20th at the Government Street Grocery in downtown Ocean Springs.

If you’d like to get your hands on the Port Orleans beer, Strief says it is now stocked on shelves in grocery stores throughout Mississippi.
