Popp’s Ferry Causeway Project update
The Popp’s Ferry Causeway Park project in Biloxi is still on track for its April completion.
This week, contractors are installing a royal blue metal roof to the bait shop. The bait shop, a one thousand square foot structure that is elevated 18 feet above the ground, is what city officials are calling the most impressive feature of the nearly $3 million project. It’s being built on ten acres of city land west of the Popp’s Ferry Bridge.
Besides the bait shop, the project includes upgrades to existing boat launches, the addition of kayak launches and rentals, a waterfront boardwalk and marsh overwalk, an open air interpretative center, and nature trails.
