Political fish fry at the Mary C.
This weekend in Ocean Springs, you’ll have one last chance to get familiar with candidates before municipal elections take place on June 6th.
The Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Center is hosting a political fish fry, featuring each of the candidates participating in what have been some of the more heated elections in recent memory.
The event is free to the public, but fish plates will cost $10. All the money raised will go towards assisting the Mary C. with their community outreach. Vicki Applewhite with the Mary C. said, “It’s an old fashion political rally and it’s going on rain or shine. It was originally going to be out on the lawn, but we’re moving inside because as you guys know the weather is not very good. All of the candidates have been asked to raise money for the Mary C. It is a fundraiser, so they’re coming to stump for five minutes apiece. Every political candidate has confirmed they are attending and Todd Trenchard is our emcee and music by the Tall Boys in between speeches. It should be a really good time.”
The event will kick off tomorrow at 3 p.m. You can find more details at themaryc.org.
