Police pursuit leads to officer-involved shooting on Highway 90 in Biloxi
BILOXI, Miss. (WXXV) — A police pursuit that began in Gulfport led to an officer-involved shooting Wednesday on Highway 90 in Biloxi, according to Biloxi Police.
Authorities said Gulfport Police were pursuing a man driving a U-Haul truck when the chase crossed into Biloxi. Biloxi Police Department units then joined the pursuit.
The chase came to an end when the driver pulled into a boat dock area near Treasure Bay Casino on Highway 90. According to Biloxi Police, a shootout occurred between the driver and responding officers.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigations has taken over the investigation into this shooting. According to MBI, the suspect was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. No officers were injured in this incident.
