Police Prep For GCCA Parade
The good times will roll very soon in the city of Biloxi for the Gulf Coast Carnival Association’s Mardi Gras Parade.
Biloxi police want to make sure you have a fun and most importantly safe time at this year’s parade which rolls at 1pm.
Streets will begin closing at noon so make sure you get your parking spot early.
Do not bring any glass containers or pets to the parade route plus spectators are urged not to throw anything *back* at the floats during the parade.
Major Jim Adamo with the Biloxi Police Department tells News 25 there will be eleven law enforcement agencies at the parade making sure everything runs smoothly.
“There are plenty of police officers on the route so if you have a missing child cuz we always tend to have a couple every year, find an officer right away, allow us to give a description right away so we can help find that child because a lot of times that child will inevitably be found by someone if not a police officer and we want to make sure they get back to the parent.”

Also make sure your child does not cross the barricades and try to pick up beads on the roadway where floats are passing by.
