Police Investigating Home Invasion in D’Iberville

An elderly man is injured after a break-in early Christmas morning in D’Iberville.
The victim of the home invasion told police two armed suspects broke into his home in the Forest Cove subdivision, stole money and valuables. D’Iberville police say the elderly man had a wound on the top of his head.
The suspects were described as two black men in dark clothing wearing scarves and Christmas colored mittens.
A neighbor living in the subdivision tells News 25 the suspects may have targeted the elderly victim because of his age. D’Iberville resident Barbie Corwin said, “When we first moved here it was a lot of retired people and as the years went by people have come and gone, but it hasn’t really changed that much and I’ve always felt safe in the neighborhood. Of course, I’m concerned about it and I’m hoping it never happens here.”
