Poker Run Event Raises Money for Special Olympics

Bikers and cops are joining forces tomorrow at the Poker Run in Biloxi.
The Saints of the Apocalypse Motorcycle Club and the Biloxi police are teaming up to raise money for Mississippi’s Special Olympics. It costs $25 to register a bike and $10 to register a rider. Participants will drive from the Tullis Manor location in east Biloxi to five different local businesses where they can collect cards to try to form the best poker hand. Registration begins at 9 a.m. The first 50 guests get a free t-shirt.
Lt. Christopher DeBack, Biloxi Police Department and the event coordinator, said, “Every year, we certainly try to raise more money. The emphasis is to raise awareness around the state and to raise money for medals, lunches and trips for the athletes.”
The participating businesses are: Castaways in Ocean Springs, The Tiki Bar and Grill in Gautier, the Shed in Ocean Springs, Kelly’s Sports Pub in Gulfport and the Little River Marina in Moss Point.
